Rules of the game

The goal of this game that the player to win the game he or she is supposed to take off all of the dice from the board before his or her opponent.

Set up

The sides of board each contain a track of twelve triangles which are known as points. These points are always taken to be linked across one end of the board. In so doing the process of linking these points will result to formation of a continuous track that resembles the shape of a horseshoe. The points are always numbered from 1 to 24.

In most cases players start the game each with 15 checkers in which the two of them are placed on the point marked 24, three are placed on 8- mark and the remaining five checkers are placed on 13 mark and 16 mark. The checkers are then moved by players in opposite directions from the 24- mark towards the point marked one.

Points marked 1 to 6 are known as inner board while those marked from 7 to 12 are known as outer board. 13- Mark is known as midpoint and the 7- mark is known as the bar point.

Movement

The players roll one die on the beginning of the game. The player with a high number moves the die at high speed compared to that with a smaller number. When it happens that the player are rolling the same number then it means that the players are required to roll again in order to determine the winner. The two dice owned by these two different players must all fall absolutely on the right hand side of the game board.

After the dice have rolled the dice by the players, then they have to take off their checker depending on the number of shown on each of the die. When the player rolls a 5 and a 3, then he or she has to move the checker 5 points forward and then another further movement of three points forward on the same checker, thus it means that in total he or she has to make a movement of 8 points.

Doubling cube

The doubling cube is used in the game to stimulate the speed of the game. This cube should not be confused with the die to be rolled. The cube is always marked with numbers 2, 4, 16, 32 and 64. Doubling is allowed after the player has accepted it. After the acceptance, the cube is fixed on the sides of board with the related power of two facing up.
